Trade policy costs Pennsylvania jobs

President Obama made numerous commitments on trade reform, and the meeting of the G-20 in Pittsburgh on Sept. 25 was an opportunity to highlight the differences between campaign promises and current trade policy. Several sets of written commitments were collected from Candidate Obama by our organization, and can be found at www.citizenstrade.org/hope.php.

Pennsylvania is suffering from job losses. We have lost over 200,000 manufacturing jobs since 2001 because of bad trade deals. Our economy is taking a downfall from imports being shipped into the United States. And our jobs are being exported for cheaper labor costs, where women and children work for less than 31 cents an hour.
