Vigils for Global Access to COVID Vaccines & Treatments
Part of the Worldwide Call for a Fast & Comprehensive TRIPS Waiver Agreement to Help End the Pandemic

Please join us at an upcoming vigil remembering those who have died of COVID-19 and calling for the global access to vaccines and treatments that’s needed to help save millions of lives and end the pandemic.

While increasing numbers of Americans are being vaccinated against COVID-19, huge numbers of people around the world aren’t expected to have access to vaccines for years longer unless global production is increased dramatically.  An emergency waiver of certain “Trade-Related Intellectual Property Rights” (TRIPS) at the World Trade Organization is a critical first step to enabling more vaccines and treatments to be produced in as many places as possible as quickly as possible.

After requests from literally millions of people like you, President Biden recently announced his support for a TRIPS waiver.  This is a huge step forward, but more work is needed to ensure a fast and comprehensive final agreement is reached that can boost vaccine, treatment and diagnostics production and starting getting people access to shots.  And, unfortunately, the pharmaceutical industry is doing everything they can to delay and weaken a final deal.  Every day of delay means more needless death.

The WTO will be making life-or-death decisions about the TRIPS waiver at an upcoming meeting on June 8.  Prior to that crucial moment, please join us at one of the following events:
