The Maine Citizen Trade Policy Commission was established by the Legislature in 2004, thanks to the efforts of the Maine Fair Trade Campaign. 

  The Commission is comprised of Legislators and citizens representing a variety of stakeholders, including labor, small business, environment, human rights, and manufacturing. 

 

The Commission is charged with analyzing the impact of trade policy on the state of Maine and making recommendations to the Governor, the Legislature, Maine's Congressional Delegation, and the United States Trade Representative.

The Maine CTPC is currently chaired by Senator Troy Jackson and Representative Peggy Rotundo.
